Get to know Natasja De Landtsheer
In this edition of 'Get to know TechTransfer', we introduce our committed Management Assistant Natasja De Landtsheer. Since 2017 she has been playing a crucial role in keeping our department running smoothly. She has been instrumental in digitalizing the department's operations, a change that has brought significant improvements since her arrival.
What is your role at VUB TechTransfer?
I work as a management assistant, together with my colleague Tania Bauwens.
What are your main responsibilities in this role?
My main responsibility is overseeing administrative matters for the department, such as processing invoices, placing orders, organizing meetings and agenda's, etc. On top of this, I take care of various EU projects to register them in our contract database (PURE).
How long have you been with VUB TechTransfer?
I have been working at VUB TechTransfer since November 2017.
How have you seen TechTransfer evolve in recent years and how do you look back on it?
In the 7 years I work here, I have seen lots of new faces join our department. We have certainly grown and expanded in recent years. After COVID-19 we took another step forward by digitalizing very quickly.
What is the project you are most proud of at TechTransfer?
Since the beginning of my career at VUB, I started reorganizing the classified system and the digitalization of our files, integrating everything into a Sharepoint in a clear and structured manner. As it was a huge undertaking to digitalize the processes of an office fully running on paper, I can definitely say I am proud of the outcome.
What is an ideal day off for you?
Spending a day off with friends or family. A terrace, being out in the sun in good company, is always a good feeling.
Last but not least, we have to know, what is your favourite invention of all time?
The best invention for me are French fries. This is really something I long for. Within our group of friends we even have a weekly appointment, usually on Friday or Saturday, to eat some fries together.
