Get to know Wesley Verbeke
Introducing Wesley, our dedicated contract manager at VUB TechTransfer since 2016. In his role, Wesley is responsible for the full administrative follow-up of all TechTransfer projects and contracts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Get to know Wesley as he shares his story, highlighting his invaluable contributions to our team.
What is your role at VUB TechTransfer?
I am a contract manager together with my colleague Natasja De Landtsheer.
What are your main responsibilities in this role?
I take care of the full administrative follow-up of all TechTransfer projects and contracts and I make sure that the VUB contract database (PURE) is up to date. We work closely together with the TechTransfer business developers and the legal team, as well as the VUB’s financial department and all the research groups.
How long have you been with VUB TechTransfer?
I started working in July 2016 for TechTransfer.
How have you seen TechTransfer evolve in recent years and how do you look back on it?
One of the (only) good things that we got out of Corona was the need to digitalize our way of working (electronic signatures, digital workflow, working from home,…) which in my opinion is a huge step forward, especially in the work-home balance. The VUB jumped on this digital train and we are still evolving and looking at where we can make our work more efficient in this digital era.
What is the project you are most proud of at TechTransfer?
We created a small ERP system for the contract management cell where we can follow up on all of our tasks and to do-lists in 1 screen, which we’ve been using for the last 8 years now and use on an hourly basis.
What is an ideal day off for you?
Sun, cocktails, barbeque and a lot of friends, the hangover the next day not included!

Jägermeister, since 1934.
