VUB spin-off Collibra has raised $250M in a funding round led by Sequoia Capital. This makes Collibra the most valuable Belgian tech company.
Collibra is an enterprising software company and a spin-off from the Laboratory for Semantic Technology and Applications Research (STARLab) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The company aims to valorize 10 years of experience in application-oriented research on semantic technology. In 2008 the company was founded by Felix Van de Maele, Stijn Christiaens, Pieter de Leenheer and Damien Trog. In 2019 Collibra was Belgian's first unicorn.
