Global radiopharmaceutical leader Curium has completed the acquisition of Abscint, a VUB-VIB spin-off specialising in innovative diagnostic imaging agents for oncology.
The acquisition secures global rights to ABS-011, Abscint's lead investigational PET radiodiagnostic tracer targeting HER2 (crucial in breast and gastric cancers). Based on single-domain antibody technology originally discovered at VUB, ABS-011 enables whole-body imaging to better characterise tumors and support personalised treatment decisions.
ABS-011 is currently being evaluated in a multicenter Phase 2b clinical trial in Belgium. Curium brings the scale, expertise and reach needed to accelerate the next phase for ABSCINT and increase the impact for patients.
