Shifting robotics into higher gear
AILOS Robotics is a spin-off from the BruBotics research group at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), building the next generation of robotic actuators through its patented R2poweR gearbox. This technology enables the creation of robots that are significantly lighter, safer, more energy-efficient, and more affordable. The R2poweR gearbox combines the agility and low backdrive resistance of quasi-direct drives with exceptionally high torque density, making it ideal for applications like humanoids, cobots, exoskeletons, and prosthetic devices.
Resulting from over a decade of VUB research, the R2poweR technology offers the low backdrive resistance essential for safe human-robot interaction, coupled with the high torque density needed for high-load joints. This scalable, quiet, and energy-efficient design is ready for large-scale manufacturing in Europe and the US, bolstering European ambition in strategic robotics hardware.
AILOS Robotics is transitioning from the lab to the factory and is actively seeking collaborations with robot manufacturers, industrial partners, and investors to drive the next wave of automation and agility across sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, and construction.
