The bioinformatics services of BiosenSource - a VUB spin-off founded by doctor in Bioengineering Sciences Liesbet van Oeffelen - are focused on the wide region of Flanders to provide optimal interaction with customers/experimental scientists. With its services, BiosenSource aims to optimize measurement protocols, data processing and analyses in terms of speed, quality and user-friendliness.
MILESTONES
- 2014: 2nd prize in ‘Battle of Talents’, a business plan competition for students
- 2015: 5th prize in Bizidee, a Flemish business plan competition
- 2014-2016: incubated at StartitKBC
- 2015: official launch
- 2016: Nano4Health award for the project with the highest potential for creating or shaping new value
- 2016: a Flemish ‘growth subsidy’ of 10 k€ was granted to BiosenSource.
- 2017: additional Flemish subsidy of 25 k€, for more technical and commercial research on measuring device
