Are you looking to apply your research to real-world health challenges, collaborate internationally, and learn Design Thinking methodologies? We are pleased to invite researchers from all career stages (including PhD candidates) to apply for the upcoming EUTOPIA_HEALTH Hackathon.
This edition focuses on four distinct health-related challenges:
- Challenge 1: Adherence to treatments in polypharmacy patients – Developing strategies to improve how elderly or chronic patients safely manage taking multiple medications simultaneously.
- Challenge 2: Overcoming barriers to early diagnosis and prevention of hereditary cancer risks – Designing better awareness, education, and screening pathways for families at risk.
- Challenge 3: Promotion of active and healthy aging – Creating innovative tools or programs to support the physical and mental well-being of the aging population.
- Challenge 4: Development of marine-derived ingredients for nutrition – Exploring sustainable, ocean-sourced elements for the food and supplement industry.

Program timeline:
- September 16: Online launch & kick-off session.
- Sept 16 – Oct 27: Online mentoring period to co-develop ideas in interdisciplinary teams.
- October 27–29: On-site intensive sessions hosted in Lisbon, Portugal (NOVA University Lisbon).
