Having worked for TechTransfer and with a passion for impactful projects like the Yamina Krossa Fund for breast cancer, she brings dedication and creativity to her role.
What is your role at VUB Foundation?
I am the Communication Officer at VUB Foundation, the philantropic department within the Vice-Rectorate for Innovation & Industry Relations.
What are your main responsibilities in this role?
I coordinate all fundraising communications for VUB. A concrete example is the creation of a direct mailing campaign. I write and design the letters to potential or existing donors.
How long have you been with VUB Foundation?
I worked for TechTransfer for 5 years in the communication team and I have been at Foundation since 2 years.
How have you seen VUB Foundation evolve in recent years and how do you look back on it?
Last year we said goodbye to our director Isabelle Marneffe. I had the pleasure to be able to work with her for one year during which I've learned so much about fundraising. Our team is lucky to have a new motivated leader, Elisabeth Rabaey. Her dedication to our team, the VUB and society is an inspiration to everyone.
What is the project you are most proud of at VUB Foundation?
When people ask about my job, I always talk about the Yamina Krossa Fund for breast cancer research. The community of its donors is heartwarming. And of course having a famous person like Alex Agnew donating 100K is something to be very proud of!
What is an ideal day off for you?
Treating myself to a new haircut, a pedicure and/or massage. Selfcare is the best care.
Last but not least, we have to know, what is your favourite invention of all time?
Not sure if this counts as an invention, but definitely cats. Life is so much better wit them.
