What is your role at VUB TechTransfer?
I am a Business Developer for European projects at VUB TechTransfer.
What are your main responsibilities in this role?
I help researchers navigate the complex world of European funding and secure the financial support they need to bring their ideas to life. Specifically, through our in-house i-ISO concept, I support our science and engineering research groups in identifying new programs and calls, informing them, stimulating their applications, and, last but not least, providing dedicated support for the development of their applications, encompassing the scientific content aspects.
How long have you been with VUB TechTransfer?
Since October 2021, I have been working at VUB TechTransfer, where I have chance to collaborate with our talented researchers.
How have you seen TechTransfer evolve in recent years and how do you look back on it?
In my two years with the team, I have observed that fostering a culture of innovation within the organization is crucial for success in TechTransfer. Additionally, our approach involves being highly flexible and dynamic to provide effective support for researchers, aiming to minimize any barriers they might encounter throughout their Technology Transfer journey.
What is the project you are most proud of at TechTransfer?
Over the last two years working at VUB TechTransfer, I have actively contributed to numerous proposals, resulting in the successful initiation of several prestigious EU projects. I take pride in each of these achievements.
What is an ideal day off for you?
An ideal day off for me would be a fun day trip exploring a new city, either in Belgium or beyond! I love soaking up the vibes of different places, trying out local food, and discovering the hidden gems each city has to offer. Whether it is wandering through historical sites or just enjoying the atmosphere, I am all about the excitement of exploring and making the most of my day off!
Last but not least, we have to know, what is your favourite invention of all time?
I am a big fan of open source, and that is why I absolutely love the inventions that make online education possible. They are definitely some of my favorites!
