Join us for an exciting Grant Writing Workshop by ERIS dedicated to Science and Engineering researchers, where you'll gain the essential skills and insights needed to successfully secure funding for collaborative European projects. Unlock the potential of your ideas and enhance your grant writing expertise with us!
What is this workshop about?
This Grant Writing Workshop will provide practical guidance on how to write a successful European proposal for applied research in Science and Engineering. The focus of this workshop is on applications to Pillar 2 of the Horizon Europe framework, which requires a consortium of at least three partners from three European Member States.
Who is the target audience?
This workshop mainly targets postdoctoral researchers, ZAPs, and academic assistants in Science and Engineering who aim to apply for European funding in the upcoming months, or who have already applied for European funding in the past but want to further improve their grant writing skills. We also reserve some seats for senior PhD students who are involved in developing collaborative project proposals.
How is the workshop structured?
The workshop will consist of two parts, plus a networking lunch:
(1) a morning group session featuring trainer presentations, hands-on exercises, and a testimonial from Prof. Dr. Bram Vanderborght.
Networking lunch.
(2) An optional afternoon session is available, where participants can receive personalized feedback on their proposal ideas.
Where and when will the workshop take place?
The workshop will take place on Tuesday, November 07th 2023 on VUB Main Campus Etterbeek, Pleinlaan 2, 1050 Elsene, Building, room P2.0.07 .
Morning session: from 9:30 to 13:00
Networking lunch: 13:00 to 14:00
Afternoon session: from 14:30 to 17:00 (each registered participant will be assigned a 20-minute slot)
It is not possible to attend the workshop online.
How can you register?
The workshop is free of charge, but registration is mandatory. You can register via this link: https://techtransfer.paddlecms.net/webform/grant_writing_workshop_organized
IMPORTANT NOTES:
In order to ensure high-quality and personalized training and feedback, the spots for the workshop are limited to 30 people. Therefore, we will adopt a first-come-first-served approach, and give priority to personnel who are submitting a proposal in the upcoming months. If the number of registrations is very high, we will create a waiting list and we will contact the participants on the list in case of cancellations. We might also consider running a second workshop in the same period depending on the demand.
If you register for the afternoon individual sessions, please note that you should send us this completed template (maximum 5 pages) by November 2nd so that we have time to read and evaluate your proposal idea. Later submissions will not be accepted.
