Field trials of Biotalys show promising results
Biotalys, a spin-off of VUB, has successfully demonstrated the effectiveness of its initial protein-based fungicide through extensive field trials. The outcomes of over 160 field trials conducted last year using the fungicide Evoca have shown great promise. Similar to previous years, the 2022 field trials exhibited excellent results in protecting grapes against Botrytis. Additionally, Evoca underwent testing in the cultivation of cucumbers, strawberries, and blueberries, with overall positive outcomes.
Biotalys aims to obtain its American license by the end of this year, while it will have to wait until 2025 for the European market.
