VUB startup HEALANT has raised €4 million in a funding round co-led by Polish VC Radix Ventures and Belgian investment fund Entrevest, with support from the European Union's InvestEU Fund.
HEALANT develops an innovative self-healing polymer layer designed to automatically seal tire punctures. Built on years of fundamental polymer research, the technology aims to extend tire lifespan while cutting downtime, maintenance costs, and material waste across cycling, automotive, and industrial applications.
The fresh capital will be used to finance the company's commercial launch, scale up its manufacturing processes, and expand its go-to-market and partnership operations.
"We built HEALANT because we believed a better material could solve one of mobility's oldest problems: punctures. The science is solid, the market need is real, and the timing is right. This round is what turns that conviction into a product," said Simon Beckers, founder and CEO of HEALANT.
