We are very pleased that our new rector Jan Danckaert has chosen to prolong the mandate of Hugo Thienpont as vice-rector Innovation and Industry Relations, so that he can continue to pursue his policy. As Director of B-PHOT, Brussels Photonics, which in 35 years has grown into a highly reputable state-of-the-art lab with numerous collaborations with the business world, he has enormous experience in the field of innovation and valorisation of research. Together with Hugo Thienpont the teams of VUB TechTransfer, Foundation & Fellowship and Crosstalks will continue to connect science and society.
