The main objective of NEXTBMS is to achieve a best-in-class advanced BMS hard- and software solution concerning technical performance, adaptiveness, and cost, for first life perspective as well as end-of-life (second life) management.
The Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB)-MOBI EPOWERS research group will be the lead, responsible for the Use Case realisation on lab-scale and upscaling towards system-level validation together with
the industrial partners. They will closely collaborate on the physics-based model development. Therefore, the VUB will bring top-notch modular power electronics interfaces for cell balancing and independent control of the modules.
NEXT BMS Consortium comprises an excellent group of 12 full partners and one associated partner who all have a specific and complementing role within the project, including the value chain in the development of the next generation BMS. Within this project, 2 research organisations 2 universities, 7 industry partners, and 1 SME are involved.
The project will start on June 1st, 2023, for a period of 42 months and is awarded a total budget of 4,998,318.25 €.
