The imec.icon ROBO-CURE research project, in collaboration with UZ Brussel, VUB, Cronos, QBMT, Medtronic Belgium, imec & UGent, developed a social robot that can autonomously offer better and more personalised care to patients with chronic diseases. The robot was first used to offer newly-diagnosed diabetes patients enhanced medical therapy.
UZ Brussel aims to incorporate the robot in the daily operations of its diabetes clinic in the near future.
