Swave Photonics, a spin-off from imec and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), has successfully raised an additional €6 million in Series A funding. This follow-on investment, led by IAG Capital Partners and including Samsung Ventures, will accelerate the development of Swave's innovative holographic display technology for Spatial + AI Computing.
Swave's Holographic eXtended Reality (HXR) platform employs diffractive photonics on CMOS chips to create the world's smallest pixel, sculpting high-quality 3D images and eliminating the need for waveguides. This proprietary technology aims to transform spatial computing across diverse display applications.
This latest capital infusion builds upon Swave's €27 million Series A round in January 2025 and a €10 million Seed round in 2023, boosting continued HXR development and market expansion.
