Reinventing Food Protection
The agrotechnology company Biotalys has decided to take the step to the Brussels stock exchange. Two new investors - the public fund FPIM and the bank BNP Paribas - promised €10M and the existing shareholders are also committed.
Since its start-up in 2013, Biotalys has already raised €63M in capital to finance its research. Biotalys is a spin-off from VIB (Flanders Institute for Biotechnology) and VUB based on years of research in the laboratory of Prof. Jan Steyaert focusing on applications of single domain antibodies in agriculture. The company employs its proprietary Agrobody™ technology platform to develop superior crop protection products, based on active ingredients with proven efficacy, in combination with Agrobodies™ as formulation agents.
