Blending physical and digital world through 3D perception
VoxelSensors, a Brussels-based start-up founded by VUB alumni Ward van der Tempel and Johannes Peeters, recently announced that it has raised €5 million euros in an investment round. The round was led by Belgian venture capital firm Capricorn Partners and Qbic, with the participation of finance&invest.brussels, existing investors, and the team.
The newly acquired funding will be instrumental in advancing VoxelSensors' roadmap. Presently, the company is focused on the development of Switching Pixels®, lasersensors designed for integration into digital glasses and headsets used in Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) applications. These sensors offer improved speed compared to existing technologies, enhancing the realism of digital experiences. Additionally, VoxelSensors' sensors are energy-efficient.
Moreover, the funding will enable VoxelSensors to expand its team by hiring new members and to strengthen its business engagements with customers in the US and Asia. The company remains dedicated to securing additional funds to support its ambitious growth plans.
