
Researchers from the VUB research group Neuro-Aging and Viro-Immunotherapy (NAVI) collect blood samples from COVID-19 patients to examine their immune system during and after their illness. With the extensive analyzes they want to unravel the immune responses of these patients.
Prof. Joeri Aerts: “We would like to find out which cells and other components of the immune system are involved in the disease process. The blood samples from the healed patients provide additional information about the evolution of the immune system. We have determined that these analyzes provide valuable information for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the infection. ”
