The VUB research group Biology of the Testis (BITE) of Prof. Ellen Goossens (together with UZ Brussel) will be the first worldwide to re-implant previously collected testicular tissue in men, who do not produce sperm cells as a result of cancer treatment at a young age. This is possible thanks to funds from Kom op Tegen Kanker and FWO Vlaanderen.
