Last week, VUB was at Knowledge for Growth 2026 to connect with industry, investors and entrepreneurs.
VUB TechTransfer teamed up with the other Flemish universities to welcome visitors at our TTO Flanders booth. TTO Flanders is the single point of contact to reach the expertise and technologies of the five Flemish university associations.
The highlight was our Research2Business pitching session, where ten leading researchers from the five Flemish universities showcased their academic ventures. Representing VUB:
- Prof. Dr. Lorenzo Franceschini - Developing personalized synthetic RNA for the selection of next-generation therapeutics
- Dr. Eric Gaba - From pineapple leaf waste to prosthetic innovation: Scalable bio-based composite material
At another booth, the µFlow Cell presented MICROLAB, VUB’s new 300 m² cleanroom facility. It is a high-tech space for building microfluidic devices in silicon and glass. Throughout the day, the VUB TechTransfer team, including Suzy Renckens, Gert Vanmarcke, Jacky Boonen and Hugo Loosvelt, was on the move, connecting with partners across the life sciences community.
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, joined the pitch session or sparked a new idea. Missed us as the event? You're always welcome to contact us.
