Two inspiring days of exploring VUB innovation during the Flanders Technology & Innovation (FTI) Festival in Brussels.
On 19 and 20 October, VUB took part in the Business Tracks of FTI Brussels, bringing academia and industry together for two days of expert insights, inspiring exchanges and hands-on discoveries through guided lab tours.
Health & Human | 19 October
From healthcare and biotechnology to immunotherapy, VUB experts shared insights at TheMerode, while afternoon lab tours on the VUB campus gave participants a behind-the-scenes look at our healthtech and immunotherapy research, a cleanroom, a chocolatier and more.
Circular & City | 20 October
How can research help build more sustainable, liveable cities? VUB experts explored this question through discussions on circular design, creativity and inclusion. Guided VUB lab tours then showcased our research on circular construction, energy, mobility and digital technology.
Strengthening collaboration between academia and industry
Across both days, FTI Brussels provided a platform for researchers and industry professionals to exchange ideas, discover emerging technologies and explore opportunities for collaboration. By opening up its expertise and research facilities, VUB highlighted the role of university research in addressing real-world challenges and creating societal and economic value.
We thank all participating VUB speakers, researchers, industry partners and visitors for joining us at TheMerode and on the VUB campus to connect and exchange insights. Special thanks go to GLUON for powering FTI Brussels.
By bringing research and industry closer together, initiatives such as FTI Brussels help lay the groundwork for future partnerships and the translation of knowledge into impact.
