
Scientists from VUB’s MOBI research group are leading an EU consortium that’s spearheading the transition to renewable energy sources and could ultimately reduce costs for consumers. RENAISSANCE, supported by the EU’s Horizon 2020 research programme, is a community-driven and scalable approach seeking innovative ways to optimise the efficiency of local power grids.
The aim of the RENAISSANCE project is to balance consumption and production of wind and solar power via local micro-grids in which citizens and businesses are both consumers and producers.
